I should be writing essays and reports and what not, but because Flashpoint's season 4 finale's on in Canada tonight, there's so much Flashpoint love going around that I just can't not play ;o)

This way to goodies )

Honestly, I don't think there's ever been a show that revolves around friendship and family as much as Flashpoint does. And I don't think there's ever been a cast who so often and freely express their love and affection for one other as this cast. THIS, this is why it's my favourite show right now and why season 4 is my favourite season to date. So many wonderful team moments and team love and I really, really hope they'll keep that up in season 5 (and, hopefully, beyond!). God, I love this show.

Can't wait to see tonight's ep!

*yaaawn*

I have SO MUCH to tell but the jetlag is still kicking my butt (the irony being that I'm flying back home tomorrow and that it'll probably hit me all over again) and I can barely keep my eyes open anymore. So I'll hopefully be able to post more about meeting Sergio tomorrow (met him again today...EEEEEEEEEEE!!!) after I've gotten some sleep.

Good night!

So as some of you know, I went to see Sergio Di Zio in his play Dying City last night. It was a very intimitate location and the actors were close enough to touch (which, TBH I was a teeny bit intimidated by...I was like, 'Oh no! They can see me, too!' Yeah, I'm a little shy). But it was great seeing Sergio perform up close and personal and he was truly amazing. He plays identical twins, but they're two very different characters and it was incredible to see how easily he seemed to switch between them. He was really good and the play itself was thought-provoking. I was surprised at how much humour they were able to inject into it and it was a goiod thing they did, because there was a lot of sad as well. It was very hard not to cry sometimes, especially at the end.

After the show, Sergio, Lesley Faulkner (who plays Kelly) and director Peter Pasyk came back on stage for a Q&A session, which was really cool. A great way to gain a more insight and of course it was wonderful to see the actors as themselves ;o) Afterwards, they stayed and chatted with individual members of the audience. They were very approachable, but I, because of my accursed shyness, couldn't work up the nerve to say hi *FAIL!* :o( But I'm seeing it again on Thursday so maybe I'll be lucky enough that they'll decide to come out and chat with us again and maybe, hopefully, I'll manage to say hello then...

Also, Sergio's brother was in the audience tonight! Sergio's definitely the younger sibling and I didn't think they looked a lot alike at all, but they do have the same chin ;o)

So anyway, go see the play if you get a chance and are able. It's totally worth it. They extended their run by a week, so I believe it's now playing till the 17th.

In other news, my stocking over at [livejournal.com profile] fandom_stocking is up! Exciting! Now I gotta go hunt for other people's stockings to fill :o) You know, I really wish I knew how to make icons, 'cause I'd love to make a few for people!
tristen84: (Happy Spike/Sergio)
So this is the first year I've signed up for [livejournal.com profile] fandom_stocking and I'm really excited to participate! For those who haven't heard of it, it's a sort of fest where you can submit your stocking (wishlist) so others can "fill" it. You can fill other people's stockings by commenting with fic, icons, holiday wishes, etc. You're not obligated to fill anyone's stocking when you post your own wishlist, but it would be nice, of course ;o) Also, you can fill people's stockings when you haven't posted a wish list of your own.

All stockings are tagged by fandom, which makes it easier to find stockings to fill. They're still posting stockings (mine isn't up yet), so keep checking back. Rules, etc. at the link in case you'd like to participate, and I believe you can still submit your own stocking though I'm not a 100% sure.

In other news, I'm leaving for Toronto tomorrow! Going to see Sergio Di Zio in his play Dying City. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! So excited! Read the play a couple of weeks ago and I'm really looking forward to seeing their interpretation of it live on stage. Have read nothing but good reviews so far, so yay! :o)

*bounces!*

So I was a little too busy yesterday rewatching this ep every spare minute I had to post my thoughts on it, but I've finally managed to drag myself away from all that angst and TEAM LOVE and TEAM-Y GOODNESS and just general awesomeness so here I am! God, I'm so in love with this ep (and with Spike, but you already knew that ;o))!

Spoilers 515 Blue On Blue )

All in all, absolutely brilliant episode! Definitely one of my top 3 favourites! Hee! :oD

Flashpoint ep Blue on Blue (the Spoilers ) ep) is on tonight!!!! Does anyone have any idea how long I've been looking forward to this ep?! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! Just hoping it's not going to disappoint...

Sergio just tweeted this pic:

Spoilers for 415 )

Hee! :o)

Also, Michael Shanks is in this ep, so for Canadian fans of MS, don't forget to watch Flashpoint on CTV tonight!

So Sergio's new play, Dying City, opens this Friday in Toronto and here's the trailer:

Very cool. And you know what's even more cool? THAT I'M GOING TO SEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! :oD

Yup, I booked a trip to Toronto and bought tickets for Dying City, so I'll be able to see Sergio work his magic live! :o) It's not something I'd normally do, 'cause you know, Toronto isn't exactly around the corner for me and I'll be travelling all by my lonesome, but...it's been a rough year for me, especially the past few months, and I needed a break. I've always wanted to go to Toronto and when I heard about Sergio doing this new play in December, I thought it'd just be the perfect opportunity to go see him AND the city. So, YAY! I'm going to Flashpoint City and see Sergio! :oD

I'm currently reading the play 'cause I want to be prepared and I'm enjoying it so far. Can't wait to see Sergio perform it! :oD

This is a truly amazing article about Sergio in which he talks about Spike, his new play (Dying City) and the loss of his mom. This article has made me love him even more. What an inspirational guy.

From: http://shows.ctv.ca/FlashPoint/article/Flashpoints-Sergio-Di-Zio-delves-into-the-heart-of-grief-in-a-new-play#c_0

An excerpt:
"On a personal note, Di Zio says his mom passed away 11 years ago. “It was a very hard time,” he says. “I was very, very close with her, but there was this gift she left me with, which was she vocalized it, saying, ‘This acting thing, if you’re going to do it, I want you to really do it.’”

And though he deems this experience of his mother’s death, “both the most beautiful and the most horrible,” he notes the inevitable growth and transformation that can be born out of grief."

Read it, it's amazing.

Found this article from Sergio's pre-Flashpoint days. It made me laugh :o) And isn't that pic just absolutely adorable?

Also, Amy Jo Johnson and Michael Cram performed in a café in Toronto last night and I was very pleased to hear that Sergio, David and Rico were there as well. I just can't get over how supportive they all are of one another!  I wish I had friends like that ;o)
tristen84: (closeup Spike)
This was tweeted by Sergio a few hours ago:

Awww...I just want to hug all of them! It's so wonderful to see that they really are a family both on and off-screen. Hee! :oD

The CTV promo for Tuesday's ep 'A New Life':

Whew! Looks like it's gonna be a really intense episode! Poor Donna...

Also, a nice little interview with Sergio from a few days ago:
http://ramona-zacharias.suite101.com/an-interview-with-sergio-di-zio-a394664

A small excerpt:
"He's also had the opportunity to see his character, Spike, grow over the past few years. "It's been really cool to do," he says. "Spike was just a small part of the cast at first. He's the pup of the group and wants to play with the big boys!"

That part made me smile ;o)

tristen84: (Sergio crooked smile)
Funny but tiny little clip of part of the Flashpoint cast at the Geminis this year. They're at around 1:46 and you only see them for like 5 seconds or so, but it's still cute :o)

A tweet from Enrico a few hours ago:

This made me smile this morning. I love how the FP cast are so supportive of each other and hang out together when they're on hiatus. *wants to hug all of them!*

ETA: For those of you not on Twitter, elisasboy72 is Sergio :o)

tristen84: (Spike: eh?)
New Flashpoint ep Wild Card on CTV tonight!!! :oD

But unfortunately there'll be a two-week break after that *grumbles*. I hate breaks between Flashpoint episodes. Loathe them in fact. Especially when it means that I'm going to have to wait even longer for Blue on Blue to air (I'm assuming it'll now air November 22nd instead of November 9th). Glah! There'd better not be any more breaks before Blue on Blue airs! *eyes CTV sternly*

At least Sergio gave us a pic to tide us over:

What a cute pic! And really, I think I've yet to see a pic where Sergio isn't smiling ;o)

New Flashpoint ep tonight: 410 The Cost of Doing Business! Featuring our belovedspoiler ):oD

Also, great article about Sergio:

'Flashpoint's' Sergio Di Zio seeks 'emotional truth' both on screen and on stage

Enjoy :o)
tristen84: (Sergio crooked smile)
So 'the men of Flashpoint' were on the Marilyn Denis show for an interview back in February. The interview itself was already on YouTube but the short BTS clip that shows the boys answering a few more questions backstage apparently wasn't, so I've just remedied that. Enjoy! :oD

tristen84: (Default)
Really glad that they seemed to be having a good time regardless of the outcome! :o) Also, Michael Cram was there! Awesome! :oD

More pics! )
tristen84: (Shep this sucks)
So last night the remaining Geminis were being given away, and Flashpoint was up for 3 awards: Best leading actor in a dramatic series (Enrico Colantoni), Best Dramatic Series and....another one I can't remember right now *g*. The point is that Flashpoint went home empty-handed! WTF?! Apparently, The Borgias won the award for Best Dramatic series, but technically it's not even a Canadian production (it's an international production)! I don't care what anyone says, Flashpoint should've taken that award home. And Enrico totally deserved to win the award for best leading actor.

Yeah, I know I'm biased, but we were robbed, I tell you! ROBBED! *grumps*

Anyway, Sergio was kind enough to tweet a whole bunch of pics before and after the show and I'm posting some of them here.

Under the cut for size! )

ETA: Ack! LJ's being a pain! Will post more pics in another post.

A little while ago someone over at the Official Flashpoint Facebook page (if you're on FB, check it out, it's great) asked which actor on the show was most like their character, and one of the producers of the show replied:

“Sergio is so lovely and instantly likeable--just like Spike. Not sure that he's a geek though. Hugh smiles a lot more than he does in the show--not nearly as intense. David isn't cocky as he appears in the show. Enrico is charming and funny--seems a lot younger in person. Amy Jo is quiet, perhaps moreso than Jules. I found Mike Cram and Wordy to be very different. Both are very sweet, but Mike Cram has more lift to his personality (does that make sense?).”

Really, it doesn't surprise me at all that Sergio Di Zio is most like his character on the show; they both just ooze likability somehow! I wonder if it's the smile or the dimples...or his voice? Sergio just seems like a very gentle and genuinely friendly guy (yeah, just like Spike ;o)).  Also, I agree that Enrico seems much younger in interviews (and BTS pics) than he does when he plays Greg Parker. And David -- when I saw him on Marilyn, I was really surprised at how different he seemed! Sam does come across as a bit cocky on the show, but David himself struck me as friendly (if a little mischievous ;o)) and even a tiny bit shy sometimes.
