How'd that happen?!

A few days ago I was so jetlagged that I woke up at 5 in the morning and couldn't get back to sleep. So I decided to try my hand at writing a FP fic for a [livejournal.com profile] fandom_stocking. Now, it so happens the person whose stocking I wanted to stuff prefers crossovers, slash and stories with (graphic) sex in them...all things I personally don't generally like to read or write. Not that there's anything wrong with that stuff, but as a gen girl I tend to like stories about friendship and family rather than romance, etc. So I wasn't expecting to get inspired to write a story that would suit her preferences at all.

That morning, in about two hours, I whipped up an SGA/FP crossover story with Sam/Sheppard slash and sex! Huh? how the hell did that happen? And I even kind of enjoyed writing it, too! ...I'm still scratching my head at myself. ;o)

.Oddly enough I wrote slash for my H50 exchange since that was something my person really wanted even though gen was a choice. I could tell based on the fact that's all she's written :-P

I got inspired to do an AU and I really enjoyed branching out. Most of my other ideas for the future are gen, but it was nice to challenge myself.

Yeah, I think I'll always prefer gen and friendship/family themes, but since I enjoyed writing this so much I think I'll definitely branch out more often. I'm by no means an experienced fanfic writer like yourself, so a lot of things still challenge me, but I have to admit that this was a particularly fun challenge :o)

BTW, nice to hear from you! :o)

how did that happen?? ;) I'm glad you enjoyed the challenge!

I can understand the jetlagged... that's basically how I feel adjusting back and forth week to week.

I blame the jetlag! ;o)

Ugh...you must be almost permanently tired. I don't envy you! :o(
